General News

TJM Projects has completed the new Aspire Lounge at Manchester Airport Terminal 2, transforming a shell-and-core unit into a sophisticated premium hospitality environment.

Delivered over an intensive 20-week programme, the £2.8 million fit-out created dedicated areas for dining, relaxation and work, alongside extensive food and beverage facilities.

The project involved a technically detailed construction package incorporating specialist ceilings, structural supports, fire-rated construction, premium floor and wall finishes, upgraded WC facilities, and the coordination of mechanical and electrical services.

Bespoke joinery played a central role throughout the scheme. TJM manufactured and installed curved banquette seating, feature booths, dining areas, servery counters, a main bar and back bar, three coffee stations, work pods, reception furniture and decorative entrance features.

Integrated warm-white lighting adds depth and warmth to the joinery, helping to create a refined and welcoming environment throughout the lounge.

Delivering the project within a live international airport required careful planning around restricted access, security procedures, controlled deliveries and existing airport operations. Detailed coordination between the consultant team, specialist subcontractors and manufacturers ensured the complex design interfaces were successfully resolved before installation.

Completed in September 2026, the new Aspire Lounge demonstrates TJM’s ability to deliver technically demanding, high-value hospitality interiors in challenging operational environments.
